Professional: Abigail is a passionate advocate for public and environmental health. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Public Health and has a background in Environmental Studies with her B.A. from Soka University of America. She has hands-on experience working in both educational and community-based instructional programs. She cares deeply about equity, prevention, and helping people live healthier lives -- especially in rural areas.
Personal: I grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and Fresno, California. I have a background in fieldwork and research particularly for social-environmental hazards! I have played soccer and sang my whole life. I did both during my time working on my undergraduate degree for my university. I love to spend time outside (when it isn't too hot) and spend time with family and friends!
Why I chose prevention:
I chose to work in prevention because I believe in the power of early interventions. I believe that the most meaningful and lasting changes come from addressing root causes rather than symptoms. It is not just about avoiding illness, it is about creating an environment where people can thrive.
