Hi! My name is Kinsey Little and I grew up in the small town of Kanab, Utah. Most of my childhood consists of memories on the family ranch, which will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope one day my future husband and I will be able to add on to the five generations of ranch work! I am the middle child of five with an older brother, an older sister (my best friend), and two younger brothers (who drive me crazy but I can’t help but love them). My favorite hiking buddy is the family dog, Bear, he keeps me company and gives me an excuse to exercise. My Beta fish, Opal, is not a great hiker…but she is trying her best lol. I am an aunt to the three most adorable babies in the world; my one year old nephew, Kevin James, my five month old niece, Bostyn Mary, and my soon to be niece or nephew (I’m hoping niece!). They are the light of my life and they make me happier than anything in the world! My biggest goal in life is to become a mom, I’m so excited to have a family and watch them grow! Although, if I never did become a mom, I would become a cat lady. I love cats!

Why I chose prevention:
When I was in 8th grade, I joined the Kane Community Youth Coalition on a retreat where I learned about things I had never heard of before. For example; the wellness wheel, risk and protective factors, and QPR. I was hooked. Whatever this was, I wanted to be a part of it! That is where my prevention journey began. I joined the youth coalition and quickly grew a love for prevention and for my community. I attended as many of the activities as I could and continued going to trainings to learn more. I attended CADCA (Community Anti Drug Coalitions of America) twice while in high school, I enjoyed the trainings and loved the opportunity to talk to state leaders about our cause. This turned my love for prevention into a sort of passion, so I was overjoyed when Ashley asked me if I wanted to become a VISTA and continue my prevention work even after I graduated! I have moved serving so far and I love the people I work with even more. I can’t wait to see what is ahead in this journey. I have so many goals for the work I’m doing/going to do and I hope that I will be able to help as many people as I possibly can for as long I am involved in the prevention program.
