Mental Health Assistance Program (MHAP)
The Mental Health Assistance Program (MHAP) is a partnership between the Washington County School District, Southwest Behavioral Health Center, and partnering contract treatment providers to offer a mental health or substance use evaluation, plus four free treatment sessions to students. School counselors can recommend the program to students and their parents, and Southwest Behavioral Health Center helps parents match their student with a local treatment provider who will complete an assessment and provide four sessions of therapy, at no cost to the family. If the family chooses to pursue more treatment, they can work with the providers to utilize insurance, sliding fee scales, or other resources to continue services.
