Why Try Life-Skills Program: Student Assistance and Peer Support
Prevention Specialists serve as a link to the school and a network of community agencies providing peer support services to students who are interested in developing healthy life-skills to enhance their academic and/or social performance.

Purpose:
The Purpose of peer support is to assist any and all students in need of additional life-skills training. |
Peer support is provided using evidence-based strategies and/or programs which have been chosen to meet the needs of the students and school.
Students who are having more high-risk issues will be referred to someone who can provide a higher level of care. |
Brief Program Description
WhyTry is an evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) program. WhyTry has proven to be a successful intervention tool in a variety of settings, populations, and age groups. Across multiple third-party studies, researchers have seen significant positive changes using WhyTry.
